Community Health Education

We are passionate about promoting health literacy and wellness through community education, using innovative culturally responsive strategies that resonate with various subgroups within the community. We serve as knowledge brokers, by repackaging and delivering health information on topics including:

  • Maternal health

  • Social determinants of health and health equity

  • Vaccination

  • Chronic disease prevention

  • Healthy nutrition

  • Substance use prevention and tobacco cessation

  • Mental wellbeing

  • Community research preparedness

  • Etc.

We partner with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and other community-centered health providers to provide health education resources that empower the community to consistently work to overcome social, economic, and environmental barriers to making healthy choices and adopting healthy behaviors.

Our health education programs address specific health issues in specific underserved communities. The community identifies the health issues, while we prepare a culturally responsive educational approach tailored to the needs of the community. We conduct health education in various settings including at churches, community centers, schools, parks, etc.

Our health education model also prioritizes connecting communities with health resources and services, to improve access to care and mitigate barriers from not knowing what is available to support wellbeing.

What our community health education is NOT:

  • Medical consultation

  • Diagnostic

  • Medical service of any kind

Attendee, Solid Rock Baptist COVID Clinic

The level of organization was amazing and I was in and out in 20 minutes.  What stood out most to me was the absolute friendliness of all involved, particularly one physician who was acting almost like the host of a party wanting to make sure everyone was doing well.....thank you for that."
